Zapier offers 3000+ integrations for rule-based automation. By connecting Levity, you can make these workflows smart. For example, you could set up a workflow that triggers whenever a new record is set up in Airtable. Levity is then used as an action to classify the provided image. Connect Levity & Zapier in the Connect tab of any AI block.
Step 1: Open Your Levity Block
Assuming you've already created a block (e.g., a generate block), click on the 'Connect' tab within the block and select Zapier.
Step 2: Accept Zapier Invite
Click on the 'Accept Invite' button to integrate Levity with Zapier.
Step 3: Configure Zapier
If you already have a setup on Zapier, open it. Otherwise, click on 'Create' button to start a new one.
Step 4: Set the Trigger
The trigger is the event that sets the process in motion. For this guide, we're setting up a workflow that generates a draft email when a particular label (e.g., 'Generate Response') is added to an email in Gmail.
Step 5: Authenticate Gmail
Log into your Gmail account on Zapier and specify the label that will trigger the workflow.
Step 6: Add a Filter
Add a filter that ensures the workflow only continues if the email does not contain the label 'Sent'. This prevents the workflow from triggering on sent emails, creating an infinite loop.
Step 7: Add Levity Step
Next, add a Levity step by clicking the '+' button and searching for 'Levity'.
Step 8: Specify Levity Action
Choose 'Generate Text' as your Levity action and authenticate your Levity account.
Step 9: Set Block and Variables
Select the block that you want to use from the drop-down list (e.g., 'Generate Email Response') and set the variables you want to send to the AI (e.g., the sender's name, subject line, and body of the email).
Step 10: Test the Action
Test the Levity action. If successful, it will generate a response.
Step 11: Add Gmail Step
Add a new Gmail step with the goal of creating a draft reply to the labeled email.
Step 12: Set Up Draft Reply
Ensure the ID field pulls from the original email so that the reply corresponds correctly. Input the generated text from Levity into the 'Body' field.
Step 13: Test the Workflow
Finally, test the complete workflow. If everything is configured correctly, a draft reply should appear in your Gmail.
By following these steps, you can integrate Levity with Zapier to automate your workflows, streamline your processes, and make the most out of your AI-powered tools. Remember to exclude sent emails when using generate steps to avoid unnecessary triggers.
Some important considerations with Zapier
Exclude Sent Emails
When setting your trigger, ensure it doesn't include sent emails. Why? Because the Generate Block in your workflow will create an email that matches your trigger criteria. If you don't exclude the sent folder, you will end up in a never-ending cycle where the AI keeps generating emails because each new one triggers the process again. By excluding sent emails, you avoid this infinite loop (and an unwelcome jump in your account usage!)
Use Paths for Classification
To setup your Classify workflow in Zapier, you need to set up a path for each of the labels. This is due to the way that Zapier handles tag based workflows, and it’s a little involved to set up. Want help with this part? Just give us a bell and we’ll hop on a call with you to get it sorted. We also recommend Make for this type of workflow, as the setup is a little easier.
